City based Banking Group is seeking to appoint an individual in a newly created role as part of their Risk Operations.
As the Head, the individual will act as the 2nd Line of Defense responsible for providing risk oversight for branch-wide risk management activities delivered through the Branch’s Risk Appetite Framework (RAF) and the Risk Management Framework (RMF). The job holder will provide risk oversight in accordance to the Branch’s strategies, approaches and support risk governance structures to manage risks effectively.
This is a leadership role with specific responsibilities for managing risks across all risk categories (except for operational risk and conduct risk matters) as well as for the enterprise risk management and supporting the Chief Risk Officer in the drives for proactive risk culture across the Branch.
The job holder will lead the Corporate Risk Management operations with a dedicated team within the Branch, liaising with the Risk Management Department (Head Office) for policy alignment.
This pivotal role for 2020 and beyond necessitates a relevant university degree or relevant risk management qualification, significant risk management experience gained within the banking sector, strong familiarity with risk and control concepts with knowledge of risk management framework, processes and methodologies (of which, experiences gained in front office and support / control functions), experience with working with global financial services institutions or consultancy practices with Branch and Head Office structures and a proven aptitude to adapt to changing business environment between detail execution and high level strategic thinking.
