Mid-market PE firm is looking to hire a talented Assistant Accountant to contribute to the ongoing success of its Institutional Fund Management team. Main focus of the role will be assisting the FM team with key operational activities and cash management for the funds and subsidiary entities. Role will suit an individual studying for professional accounting qualifications, who with the support of an employer, is looking to qualify and develop their accounting career.
Bank administration responsibilities will include including the opening of new accounts, reviewing daily bank reconciliations provided by the fund administrator, ensuring all internal models are updated for any cash transactions and providing the bank with all compliance reporting. Fund Administration responsibilities will include liaising with the fund administrator to ensure the payment log is maintained, supporting the fund accountant with quarterly investor reports, preparing year-end financial statements for small corporate entities and supervising the drawdown and repayment of funds to and from investors by the administrators to ensure accuracy and security. Other responsibilities will include producing ad hoc analysis for the Portfolio team, liaising with the fund administrator to log and answer queries from institutional investors, completing monthly internal stock reconciliations and
completing monthly custody reconciliations for reporting to the Financial Conduct Authority.
Successful candidates are likely to be degree-educated and part-qualified, have strong IT particularly Excel skills, have the ability to work to tight reporting deadlines and distil information quickly, and have a strong team work ethic and the desire to add value at all times.
