The role will suit a high calibre individual with extensive experience of board/fund governance within the investment management/funds sector. This must include a solid understanding of mutual funds, UCITS and Alternative Investment Funds and their regulation. Preferred experience will be gained from a senior role within fund operations, business oversight or regulatory policy and applications are also welcomed from individuals working in company secretarial capacity who have a high level of exposure to fund operations.
This is a senior role requiring applicants to possess significant experience of managing change. Key purpose of the role will be to lead and manage regulatory, governance and compliance change projects for the global funds business. Previous experience of managing a large regulatory or governance project e.g. CP86 Implementation or passporting of funds between jurisdictions is essential.
Remit is broad reaching and challenging and will require a solid understanding of fund and governance laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions, together with experience of working with the Board approval process. Specific responsibilities will include leading cross- functional projects, such as ensuring business and fund changes are built into Committee and Board reporting and governance processes, developing policies and procedures on governance matters and enhancing investment management oversight model and practices.
An excellent record of academic achievement is essential and in addition to a strong degree from a top tier university will ideally include a relevant professional qualification. The successful candidate will be a charismatic individual with natural leadership skills and effective influencing, communication and stakeholder management abilities. An excellent knowledge of the regulatory and legislative environment relating to funds across UK, Europe and US is essential.
